Title: Strawberry leaves (forever!).
Post by: omits on June 14, 2021, 09:10
Finally found how to post!
Should I remove strawberry leaves which are shading the fruits so they ripen better? It also will help to stop damp forming. Advice appreciated.

Have always removed the dead leaves when the plants come to life in early Spring.
Any dead leaves at fruiting time would suggest an unhealthy plant or poor watering regime.

Never heard of anyone removing the green leaves while fruiting.
Would expect the leaves to bring all the nutrients to the plant and the fruit.

Hi there,
To start a new topic, on the home page choose which board you wish to post on, for your strawberry question it would be 'Grow Your Own'. So click on those words.
On that page, above the list of topics is the green, New Topic button. Hope this helps  :)
