Title: nashi/asian pears

Hi..looking to get some nashi trees after tasting the wonderful pears on the tree at ballmaloe on a trip in october but finding it imposdible to source any in ireland..plenty of stockists in uk but they get very expensive to ship them over..anyone know of any place in ireland or the north.

Cannot help on locating a supplier although I would have expected one to exist somewhere in your bit of the world.
You need to eat them when still firm. They go "off" pretty fast and if any give in the fruit I expect they will not be as  good.

Even if on the tree and not firm they lose their taste.

I had one for a number of years and that is what I found with mine. It did however bear a lot of fruit. Actually too much fruit. More then one branch broke under the weight of the fruit.
