Title: pear problem
Post by: dmg on June 28, 2013, 21:28
One of my pear trees has a lot of the leaves dying back it seems about a 1/3 of the whole tree. It is only in its second year and recently the lowest limbs have been trained to the first tier of the fence.
I have 2 other pear's close to it will they get affected?

Thanks,
Dmg

Are the dying leaves blackened or just brown and shrivelled?

Hi Trillium,
The leaves that I've seen were only blackened. I have taken the leaves off mine but I have noticed it on neighbouring plots.

I got this some years back with my pear tree planted in a pot as my allotment wasnt ready and couldn't find what problem was. Ended up using some of that disease control stuff and only this year after 3 years has it started producing flowers and pears. Fingers crossed.
