Title: prolonging strawberry season
Post by: carlrmj on July 15, 2012, 20:50

Hi
I grew honeoye strawberries this year, had loads off them, but they have now all finished.

They began cropping at the beginning of June.

I was hoping someone could suggest some other varieties that would prolong the season.

I was reading up on everbearing ones, but am unsure on them.

  Thanks Carl

Our main ones are marshmello, and I take five plants into the greenhouse once they have been well frosted, as this then gives us an early crop. I hand pollinate these

We also have a few plants of Amelia, which are slightly more scaret in colour, not that deep luscious crimson. They do well and taste good. They start to crop in August usually: easy to get I think

Hope that helps
