Title: thinking about creating allotments over 2 acres
Post by: davemell on July 10, 2011, 19:56
hi I recently decided I was not making enough of my spare land and thought that allotments would be a good idea however I know very little about them, could i get some basic advice from this forum please. simple things like sizes(not in rods though please)? price(per year)? does each allotment need own tap, sheds, this kind of thing

as I have said I have very (very) little idea of how allotments work or if this is a task worth taking on. I am grateful for any help I receive

Dave

PS. acres are in Liverpool outskirts

I can't give you any specifics, but I know there are several allotments in Liverpool. Why not visit a few and ask questions? You'd be able to compare answers and then decide what to do from there.

was a fairly recent survey of sizes/rents and people have indicated whether they have water, I hope it helps.
On most Council sites people have to supply their own sheds, unless they are lucky enough to inherit one when they take on the plot.
