Gobby Cockerel
« on: January 17, 2014, 10:30 »
We have the most beautiful Brahma/Caulder Ranger cockerel. Gentle, friendly, six month old.  He started crowing last month, and didn't do it too often.  But in the last few days, he is incessant with his crowing.  It's like he can't help himself.  My neighbours, who were gracious in the beginning, are now probably ready to wring all of our necks.  I've advertised him on your Swap Shop, have offered him to neighbouring farmers . . . . I just can't take him to the vet and put down a perfectly healthy chicken.  Any advise?  Sympathy?  I told you so's?  We hatched him out last August under our broody hen.
When I die I will slide in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand and chocolate in the other, screaming, "Whooo hooo!  What a ride!" as life is to be enjoyed to the fullest!

there is a homing place advertised on this place.
I housed Rusty at a farm along with BIL's cockerel and Charlie was advertised on preloved and someone in Bucks sent a courier for him.  depending on your freecycle you could advertise there.
