Title: Can anyone help me identify this mower
Post by: Mark2765 on July 26, 2020, 19:32
Hi, I have been given a rather old lawnmower. I believe it is an Atco with a Suffolk engine with the number E8103 stamped on the casing. The cylinder measures 16". I'm looking at refurbing it but I haven't got a clue as to what model it is, as I think if will need some parts. Can anyone identify the carb too....I have looked for ID numbers  plates etc to no avail.
Thank you, Mark.

Agree about an Atco, the clutch assembly is very similar, but is there a slot on the handles for a clutch bar?

Not sure about the engine though...

What a fabulous project - I'm envious!

I have a mower similar. Mine is an ATCO Deluxe 14. So, a 14in cutter unit. ATCO also made 17 and 20in versions. If there is no machine serial number plate? At the rear of the engine in the region of the oil drain plug there should be a number stamped. Which will help identify your engine albeit a 75 or 98cc version. As for the carburettor make and model? A Zenith TYPE 13 TCA is a possibility. Again there should be identifying numbers stamped on the carburettor. Hope this helps?

Hello I've been through my machine books they all have ATCO  as 12 ,14 17and 20 inch models in the deluxe range theres no mention of a 16 inch cut unless it's a change over model as the clutch is from a sliding dog clutch that model usually has a clutch cable  jezza
