Hiya

I have just started a comfrey and nettle tea / feed for my veggies and am thinking of adding banana skins (we have loads, we make lots of smoothies  ) for the potassium.

My question is, will this help or hinder the nutrients in the comfrey and nettles?

It would be interesting to find out how much potassium is in the skin as opposed to the fruit, and secondly would that potassium be released in sufficient volume to make a difference.

not sure, but i think i read somewhere that the banana skin takes ages to decompose. perhaps cut them in small pieces?

True with ak9. And not read the link and speaking from exp... Banana skins are good for composting and rather amusingly to ripe tomatoes... (Ever wondered why your mum said bananas goes at bottom of fruit bowl??)
