This is probably a silly question, but can you freeze non-mashed potatoes?

When I get a load and they look they're starting to turn I peel, cook and mash them, then freeze them in sandwich bags.  It works really well.  However Raven Junior isn't keen on mashed potato, so I just wondered if there was another way?

I do lots of these for the big dinners we have towards the end of december. One less job to do.  Just tip 'em into the oven for an hour.
