can someone advise please?

I am currently cropping my nine star perennial broccoli for the first time. Now my book says not to strip the plant bare but I'm sure I read on this site somewhere that you should make sure you remove all the buds or it won't return next year.

Maybee the not sripping the plant bare only applies to purple sprouting etc?

thanks

I've just checked my Thompson & Morgan seed packet and it definitely says that in order to crop year after year, ensure all heads are cut.
I guess otherwise the plant goes to seed and loses its strength.
Just for your info, it also says to water regularly, especially in dry periods, hoe between plants and give liquid feed as heads develop.
My 9 Stars seedlings are only just showing - can't wait for them to grow big enough to crop!
Still glowing, still growing, still going strong!

I think Jeanie is spot on. You of course only pick the well developed buds of any sprout, so you harvest throughout a few weeks.
