Solar Power for Green House

While on the plot the other day a neighbour told me about a solar panel he had installed on his shed to power a small light and propogator heater in it. He had been given the panel and the other bits were under £50.00.What a great idea for green houses or sheds on plots without power.

Has anyone out there done it? If so tells me about it because it would be really usefull on my plot.

I thought about this, when I finally do get my damn plot, but most sites are in chav land and would be stolen the 1st night it was put up...

put it up in the morning, then you'll get some use before its nicked, its no use putting it up at night!

Yeah, I had thought about solar power. As has already been mentioned Chav land is nearby. We had some breakins the other week. I was thinking about a security device that would send a txt message if someone was breaking in. I only live 10 mins away and I could be round there in a flash.....

Only problem is the cost.

Just seen a solar powered shed light in B&Q on offer for £20. It was on one of their main dispalys. It looked quite easy to put up. Even I could do it.

There's a lady on our site who is planning on installing a solar panel to run a water pump to feed an irrigation system. This is to avoid the endless trudging back and forth to the site water taps. We aren't allowed to use hosepipes on site, but we do have several taps. Not sure how she's planning to fill the water butt though. Probably by trudging back and forth to the water taps haha
