Morning Folks 
2 years ago we purchased a newspaper offer of 3 patio fruit trees ( Red / Green Apple & Pear )
which we have planted in big tubs, they are sheltered from most of the wind & east facing.
This year both apple trees are showing fruit  but not the pear  but it was smaller when it arrived
so I think it could be a year behind the others.
My question is :- The green apple tree has got quite a few leaves which have curled  & yet most
of leaves are ok, is this ok or could it be cold wind damage as the wind has been quite strong & coming
from every direction this year & yet the other 2 trees are ok.

Uncurl the leaves and you will likely find blackfly.  Just spray under the leaves.  If not then, Not a clue - sorry.

Spray with what? Also, whats the consequence if you dont bother to spray when one of your apple trees has this, as has mine?

I spray with an organic insecticide.  If you don't, you run the risk of introducing disease to the tree.  Blackfly can weaken the young tree and damage the leaves and lead to a poor crop.

Morning    Moving on from original question.
I checked the tree & sure enough full of blackfly so I sprayed it with a green/blackfly spray which appears to have killed the little b.gers off, the downside is that the 10 apples that were on the tree have stopped growing & have stayed at the size of a maltesser sweet. Is this because of the blackfly or the spray or something else ? The pear & red apple tree which are very close bye have stayed clear but I did spray them just in case.
Any thoughts gratefully received.
