Processing clay soil
« on: May 08, 2015, 16:25 »
I have been sieving the soil in my raised beds and have been left with clay balls which I don't know what to do with.

So far I am storing the detritus in a dalek composter and it's about 1/4 full.

Can anyone please advise me the best way to turn the clay into compost? If I now put other compost material on top such as grass clippings etc, will this break the clay down?

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks brokenglass,

I've googled adding lime and that looks a great idea.

I'll get some and give that a go cheers.
