I have bought myself some debris netting. I'm now looking for the cheapest way to create a structure I can put over my plants. I know a lot of people at my allotment use that blue MDPE pipe to do this, however I can't see to find it was that cheap anywhere.
What methods have people used to create cheap netting frames that are easy to lift up to get to plants?

I have found Screwfix as good as any one for blue pipe

It is worth shopping around for the blue water pipe. Last lot I bought was from Screwfix. I remember I looked for the same product at Travis Perkins and it was really expensive.

Screwfix does seem to be the cheapest, you can only buy it in 50m rolls though, which seems like too much.
What would be better; a tunnel sort of frame using the blue pipe, or a square frame using white PVC pipe? Need to work out what would be cheaper.

I have found the local Freecycle group (they are all over the UK) invaluable for getting usual bits and pieces. I got about 15 metres of blue pipe for free from one person who had some left over from a house build, and some wooden frames from an old fence from another - used as below. Mutate and survive 🙂

It's always a faff lifting the netting to get inside. If it was easy the butterflies would find the way in as well ::) I weight my netting down with bricks and old fence posts. There's usually a lot of fence posts to be found just after a storm :lol: :lol:
