Hello from Cheshire
« on: November 25, 2015, 13:21 »
HELLOOOOOOOOOOOO     just found this site  :tongue2:  I am a newly retired midwife with a 6 month old allotment. It literally is brand new as our council have only just set them up in May this year. The site was originally a huge playing field, and we have a corner, so now there are 10 plots, 5 on each side with a muddy strip of grass down the middle. There is a security fence around the site and now we have a tap for water at the bottom.
I am really looking forward to next years full growing season, so I will be pestering you gorgus lot for advice.
Thanks for adding me
Terrye x :D

Welcome to the site, time for lots of planning over the winter. Be prepared to become an addict & seed aholic like the rest of us. You can start a gardeners diary to record your progress.

Hello and welcome. I was once living in your general area. I waited and waited for a new allotment but in the end moved country :D

Hallo and a warm welcome. I live just down the road in North Wales. You've joined a very lively and friendly site.

Welcome to the site  :D

If you pop your general location into your forum profile, we'll remember whereabouts you are; often useful when chatting about growing stuff  :)

NB. Congrats on your new lofty. If you grow spuds next year, be prepared for the possibility of having wireworms, as these are common in former grass areas. The GYO board on the forum has various threads on how to minimise impact if you do a search.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
