Title: pickled onions

Hello do you need to grow a special type of onion to do pickled onions  :?: , we do get  small onions here but they dont seem to have that crunch but a bit of a rubbery out side , we have tryed various methods but still rubbery.

I find shallots much easier to grow for pickling.

Paris Silverskin is your standard pickling onion variety but I can't see why any hard onion shouldn't work for you.  You must brine any of them first though.

i use shallots and ord onions ,i just slice the bigguns into rings 1/4 inch thick yum :wink:  half teaspoon full chilli powder or fresh chillies n ur sorted
