Over 30 years have passed and I'm twice the man I once was (in girth and weight) and there is no way you would get me on roller-skates again, that's why they went when I cleared out the loft a couple of years ago.

To think I used to skate backwards and we used to play stuck-in the mud and the release was someone skating between your legs and you had to jump up in the air as they skated bent double. The old bones could not take that kind of punishment.

No Photo or video but great memories of speed skating to Jazz funk, soul music and disco at the Tolworth leisure centre and leatherhead (which was not so good a venue) I seem to recall that being a good skater was a bit of bird puller (now that dates me)
