hi folks i have a honda f400-2163322 rotovator can any tell me correct oil for transmission please as can not find info in manual

not yet, but i have workshop manual on the way. I put liquid grease and SAE 30 engine oil in mine;

Would you believe that the US-origin repair manual I have for the F400 doesn't list lubricant types? There must be a separate lubricant schedule somehwere. Have you tried contacting your local Honda dealer, they might be able to tell you?

I have a Honda F501 the manual covers both the F501 and F401 and states that the
transmisson oil is the same grade as the engine which is SAE 10W30.

hi thanks for that not sure if the 401 is the same but went with the mixture idea for now and seems to be working ok now got to find a way of replacing the tin guards that protect the casing from wear as it ploughs it belly through the soil

Buy some new ones and bolt them on? :happy: (sorry, couldn't resist!)
Please let me know how you get on 'cos the sames parts on mine are looking a tad worn.
