Quinoa
« on: February 11, 2012, 21:18 »
I've recently cooked quinoa a couple of times.  Is it supposed to retain some texture (i.e. a bite to it) once fully cooked?

I don't dislike it with the bite, just wanted to check I was cooking it correctly!
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Yes, it does have a slight bite, sort of like al dente pasta. But you can cook it a bit longer if you wish. I always measure water to quinoa so the texture is the way I like it. Usually I use chicken broth rather than water; gives it some taste.
