Title: Transferring chutney to smaller jars
Post by: Rosyred on November 30, 2020, 12:16
Hello,
I read you can transfer chutney to small jars but it looked like it was freshly made. I made mine in August and it tastes lovely but would like to share with friends. Silly me used big jars, can I transfer to smaller jars? Would re heating the chutney spoil it as its matured now. How can I share with more than two friends?

I doubt you will get a vacuum seal unless the chutney is hot, so it won't keep very well :(

I’m in mum’s camp of sterilised jars & boiling the chutney again, I’m sure it won’t harm the flavour
