Title: Howard Gem JAP motor oil connections
Post by: johnck on August 28, 2012, 03:48
Hello everyone -- first post here, from NZ
I've a Howard Gem with a JAP motor (serial 93000/5 on cowl plate).  Unfortunately the fuel and oil pipes have been removed. The fuel one is easy to follow, from tank to carby. There appear to be three oil-related connections at the bottom-front of the engine.  Viewing from the front, there are two visible, both expecting a feed-in (our out) from the left side (let's call them 'right' and 'middle').  And there is one more connection around to the left that's not visible from front viewing and pointing directly left (call this one 'hard-left'). One of these must be connect to the down-pointing outlet from the oil filter. Which one - right, middle or hard-left?  And where do the others lead to or come from?  Any assistance welcomed. With thanks, JohnK
