Update on Paprika
« on: March 10, 2019, 16:40 »
I want to try a new recipe which says 'sweet paprika'.   I have hot, paprika, and smoked paprika.
So can I use any of these or must a buy another one ?   Thanks,  Mrs Bouquet

Yes, unless it's just "paprika" you have. Smoked has a distinctive flavour and hot might be too hot for the required amount of flavour.  What are you making ?

In Spain we have "ducle", which is sweet, we use this a lot for general seasoning, I would use "normal" paprika in the UK rather than Hot or Smoked.

After all your help and checking around, I looked at my jars again and noticed that the "Paprika" I need was dated best before  2012 !!!!.   (Normally I use the smoked or hot variety).    So got a new one and now I am ready to go.   Mrs Bouquet
