New season's seed catalogue prices
« on: September 23, 2012, 06:02 »
I think that they have risen sharply compared with last year. Anyone else think this?

I think seed prices have been rising rapidly for a few years. I found an old seed catalogue from three or four years ago the other day and could not believe the difference in price . I also think that there seem to be fewer and fewer seeds in packets as well. Will just have to be more careful about what I buy and sow more carefully too.

I save a lot of my own seeds and any I need to top up I wait for the 50p sale at the garden centres (just got 40 packets for £20).  I now only need to buy fresh parsnip seed

I've only had the Garden Organic catalogue, so far, and there doesn't seem to be much difference to me - just a few pence here and there ;)

Premier seed's still look good value to me.  Our society get's 50% off at T&M's but still get's nowhere near premier.

I usually get wilko's own seeds.
The selection isn't the best but i've always had good results!

Haven't noticed a massive price rise- but not looked to close.
But as they will have had as bad a year as the rest of us I wouldn't be surprised if prices have gone up.
I do tend to use many seeds for a couple of years (not got the space for Parsnips!), so hopefully next year will be perfect and prices will drop!
Very often quite lost- would be more lost if I could work out where I was!- But always find my way home.....

What are you lot like?  Someone should have switched the computer on after waking up methinks.

Perhaps my price list has gone up because I plant oddball things rather than the regular stuff.
