I have a new greenhouse and am wondering about heating it to start some crops off early, trouble is it is PVC insetad of glass, will it still work? And if so how do i do it? :)

shouldn't think there'd be much difference as long as you keep the heater away from the plastic. May even be better insulated? I would put up bubble wrap and use an electric heater if you can... I'm going to be sectioning off the end of my home greenhouse with bubblewrap so I'm only heating a couple of cubic metres...

I would look for a heated propagation table.  Wooden trough, plastic waterproof lining, layer of sand/grit,  electrical heating element laid out then top up with more sand/grit.  add water.

The heater warms the water (thermostat supplied with heater cable) and this gives 'bottom heat' to your plants.  I've  made my own apart ftom the electrical bits and I wouldn't be without it come early spring.   It puts the heat just where it is needed.    Cheers,   Tony

My greenhouse is glass and lined with bubblewrap. The temperature has much improved in there. I have a paraffin heater too, but trial and error with the wick in it. (see my diary). Am cleaning it tomorrow and will keep you posted on there on how it goes.
