Greenhouse clips etc.
« on: May 01, 2010, 21:37 »
For the last few weeks I have been putting up an old 8'x6' greenhouse.  Frame is now up, with appropriate nuts (that wasn't easy!), but now we come to the glass panes.   I bought some clips from Wilko's, which allow you to stack glass on top of each other.  My questions relates to the type of clips you need to hold the glass in the aluminium frame supports?  I have come across W clips,

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Garden-Greenhouse-Glass-Pane-W-fixing-Clips-Clip-x-100-/270394016803?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Home_Garden_Garden_Structures_Fencing_CV&hash=item3ef4bd4423#ht_2219wt_1165

but have no idea if I need these?  Can someone please help?  The greenhouse is probably best part of 20 years old!

Thanks in advance!
Now then, I am a very pleasant lad from York.  I have a decent half plot on Holgate allotments.

Think I know what you mean by G clips.  I've used both on my greenhouse, they both do the same job.

Those clips from Wilko that are used to stack glass, here is a photo of some on my GH that were on for less than 3 months..Wilko gave me my money back but there is still the work of replacing them with stainles steel ones.
BTW the nuts part of the frame bolts are not aluminium ..try one on a magnet and see!

Thanks Ice and smud6ie!  8)

Looks like I am going to be buying new Z clips too then - whilst the Wilko clips were cheap, I expected them to do the job!  now who recommended them again?

I'll update with how it goes in due course!

Ta!
