Surely if they are not doing any harm why cant you leave them .There will be lots of things that find them tasty. I try to encourage everything in my garden. Its all part of the eco system isnt it?

ive found in the past i they are left to their own devices they spread all over the place and get huge and then you have more to get rid of and they get very smellyand slimy :(

I know this is a little OT but I must say that the division of 'toadstools' into 2 words looks very comical.
As for the fairies - well, maggots under cowpats,Yes! but fairies under toad stools??? I think not. :lol:
