Hi everyone
Being new to my plot i'm getting plants given to me left right and centre :) It's just trying to keep up with clearing new ground for them that is the hard bit ;) But i have just been given some sweetcorn seedlings that have between 3 and 4 seedling per module and are about 1 inch high. Can i split them into seperate modules or am i best just growing on the best in each module and nipping out the others. Many thanks for any help

id say just keep 1 if you have enough, realy you ned 6 minimum in my opinion. when you plant them out remember to plant them in a block not a row (sweet corn is wind polinated so rows dont give a good yeild)

i have about 12 do you think that will be enough ?

hi jim sweetcorn hate root distubance so most people grow one plant per module to minimize this, i would agree with cats one per module minimum of 4 to 6 plants i grow mine in blocks of five just as you see on dice that seems to work well. I have had my highs and lows growing sweetcorn over the years bet when you get it right its well worth it.good luck :)

Single plant per cell, last year i had a really good year for corn, when ever i walked past them i would run my hand up the flower head of a different plant not sure if this helped but i got a good crop.

Doesn't have to be a different plant, but it never hurts to run run your hand over the tassles, then the silks.
Just given them a good shake will help.

Many thanks everyone i will thin them to one per module which will leave me with 12 plants
Cheers
