Alternative to Cranberries
« on: November 04, 2008, 11:03 »
Can anyone recommend an alternative to cranberries that are available in England (even better Sussex).
I want to make Cranberry sauce but can't find local Cranberries and don't want to buy imported ones from the supermarket, so I was wondering if there was another type of berry that I could use as an alternative.
Also I can't grow them myself as I live in a flat with a tiny but full balcony.

The only thing I can think of is to use redcurrants instead.
Cheese makes everything better.

I have a cranberry plant! Does not produce tons but I think with two or three plants there woujld be enough for cranberry jelly. I also think if one put a bit of effort into growing them then a good crop couold be had.
