Folks,

I have a thick, very woody, privet which needs 'squaring up'  - the height is ok for now but the thickness is a bit wayward. It was cut back a number of years ago and I have tried with electric headge trimmers to keep it compact. The hedge now consists of small woody twigs which won't cut with the hedge trimmer and I don't think they're dense enough to cut with a chainsaw.

Is there something in between I could use - perhaps hire from the local hire shop?

I don't much fancy doing it by hand !!

How about one of those posh little
electric saws .. is it reciprocating ?
You can get them mains or battery.
Just checked .. that's right.
Fancy one of those myself.
Lot handier than my chain-saw
for smaller stuff.
