I need some advice on a bees nest.
I lifted some tarpaulin on my plot today and found a bee colony has set up house.
I have left it where it is because I have various beans that need a lot of help right now.
Anyway, they have set up shop where I plan to build new compost bins in a few months so the question is: will they vacate the nest on their own or do I have to get my eviction gloves on, come late autumn?

Yes they will vacate. They sound like Solitary bees. These will nest but will always move on. Please try to protect them. Work around them. They are very important. I doubt they will hurt you and will ignore you if they can. Enjoy watching them, you are very lucky to have them.
Sometimes they will return in the next season, So do your building of bins over the winter. You might find they will utilise something that you do.

Thanks Bob.
I wont disturb them, they are a valuable commodity these days.

It might be advisable to put a notice up to make people aware of the nest so they can avoid it. There may be people who have allergies so it is always best to take precautions. ;)
