sorry about the size of the pic.
I have lost two of these clips securing the blades to my Merry Tiller cadet. They came off on Saturday while doing the business and getting the soil ready. The problem is that I have been trying to purchase replacements but not had any luck. This could be because I don't know what they are called.
If anybody knows what these clips are called or know where I can buy them, I can continue rotavating this weekend.

Hi Alan try a local horticutural machinery dealer or a agricultural machinery dealer.( take a spare spring lynch pin with you to make shure ).

sick a bolt in of a similar diameter :wink: it will do the job till you get the posh things.

I note that Richard T' lists them on his Merry Tiller support website...
.....do note the 2 sizes...one for the mainstream M'T' and smaller ones for Cadet/Wizard.

:D I suspect that you lost them because they were put on the wrong way round, these pins use the d spring to hold them in, if you put them the wrong way round the spring opens and the pin falls out. just look at the rotation of the shaft in relation to the clip, you will see what i mean. They are available on ebay for about 13 squid for a set of four. The elderly guy on the next allotment next to mine lost one of his in the spring.I slipped home got out my metal detector and after a dozen false alarms found his pin, We are now best of friends, and when i have no greens to pick he always makes sure we never go hungry.regards Mick

I dont know where in Derbyshire you are but I have 4 of these pins and 4 sets of tines and 2 extension bars going spare (were in a box of parts I bought wanting something else. You can have if you want ( I am at Creswell Nr jn 30 M1)

you will peobably find they look like a r shape hence the name retaining pins ebay always have them for sale

Just to avoid confusion, the illustration is not an "R" pin, it is the normal steel pin with spring retainer which is used on farm tractor hydraulics. "R" pins are smaller one piece pins which could certainly not stand the swing of a reversible plough.

I think thats what may causing the topic to flow over the edges,
I'd do it but can't see the buttons as they have moved off the page .

I've fixed it :) - old posts with large pictures need re-loading to automagically resize the displayed size.
