hi ya   down one side of my new plot, is 2ft bank that goes up to another plot that is coverd with brambles masses of them donkeys years old, i had to cut them back to start work on my plot, question is how do i keep them at bay, i have thought about puting a match to them but we are not allowed fires..............pete

wait until next spring, when they start growing again and spray them with glycophosphate (roundup) a weedkiller that kills the bramble then dissolves in the soil and you can plant in it in 2 weeks

gowing is right that next spring when the brambles start to grow is the time to spray them.

If you cut back the top growth now and get rid of it, then you will be abe to see the new growth really easily next year
