Pumpkin seeds

Can i feed my hens Pumpkin seeds? Any advice welcome. :unsure:

Yes :) they love them, also the flesh of the pumpkin in fact any kind of squash.

Ours eat both seeds and flesh and the turkeys eat EVERYTHING!  including most of the skin!

is the pumpkin cooked or raw if it is cooked it will make a change for them in the winter for them as a hot mash

There also supposed to be useful for treating thread worms in humans, wonder if it also applies to chooks

aww i will be testing this out now!!!! that sounds great
i work in a nursery where they get school meals so my girls get all sorts of food :) have noticed they dont like peas though which i think is weird
is it true that potatoes are bad for them??

When we thought the pumpkin had finished growing we let the hens into the veg garden, I had missed a pumpkin growing amongst the thick leaves, the hens soon found it and within a couple of days the whole pumpkin had gone.
As for potatoes.... I always cook the peelings for the hens, they love them :D We have a few orange trees, they run when they see me pick the fruit and wait for their share.  We used to have an olive tree too, the hens ate loads of fallen olive fruit..... black olives make for very runny black poo :ohmy: I was worried when I first saw the colour, then I realised what it was :lol:

Aren't pumpkin seeds a little large for chickens? I'd worry they'd get stuck in their throats.
