1L bedding plants @ £1.29:-

Btw, the mini-propagators the plug plants are supplied in are great for starting off lettuce and a light sprinkling of water retaining gel on some water will replace the gel base. :)

I'm tempted by the curly kale and possibly the purple sprouting broc...  do they need netting?

I'm also tempted by the tea towels (althogh I've been told I don't need any more as I already have over 50!!!) and the food cover!

Hannah :)

PSB for sure Willow and probably Kale too (though I have read on the forum that the flutterby's may not be quite so keen on it).  I have all my brassicas netted.  :)

Ooh, the blasted snails had all of my kale and psb and now it's too late to start any off so I'll be down there on Thursday!  Might just have to be late for work in order to grab all of the bargains!

Thanks for posting this :)

Just realised (remembered) I don't have a car on Thursday, so I'll be stuck at home for the day - won't make it to Aldi until Friday...

I hope to pick up some sprouts after mine failed to germinate for some reason.  Also fancy the food umbrella and the batter bowl.

I've been down to our Aldi today and was very impressed with the plants.  All of them looked very healthy and were so easy to dislodge from the trays.

I've put mine in straight away tonight - I realise that if they aren't hardened off properly that they'll suffer a check in growth, but with the poor growth we've been having lately anyway I don't think that's the worst of their problems.

Also, with some fresh water retaining gel and cleaned up trays the packaging looks like they could be used year on year as mini windowsill greenhouses :)

Well I went to Aldi to buy my food umbrella.... and left with a little pack of the purple kale - I have no idea where in the garden it is going to go, or how I'm going to protect it from pigeon or chicken attack or anything else they are suseptable to!  I forgot them had PSB, I didn't see it but didn't look through everything prob a good think

Also picked up one of the ladybird/bee boxes and a pack of their own chocolate marzipan!

:D

I was impressed by the quality of the plug plants too. I got a bit carried away and bought the green curly Kale, winter cauliflower, winter cabbage, spring cabbage and PSB. 75 plants for just under a tenner, and no postage costs.  :D I have treated myself to a bottle of Prosseco though!

I am going to share the plants 50/50 with another allotmenteer. :D

I got sprouts and winter onions. Not due when to put the onions in though
All the way from my allotment in beautiful Derbyshire. I'm in year 3 of my allotment and wish I'd caught the bug years ago, things growing from strength to strength

The curly is liked by the flea beetle this year and the russian was deffinately liked by the cabbage white last year
