Broad Beans
« on: June 16, 2009, 17:39 »
The broad beans are approx. 18" with many flowers.   Unfortunately the bottom flowers are dropping off. On examination there is a tiny pod inside.  Any ideas as to why they are dropping off.  Any help will be appreciated.  There was no name of the variety on the packet of seeds   :(

I think they're meant to, i had some of my flowers fall off ages ago and i still onlt have a few pods that i can see forming.  I dont think they're as easy to spot as others like peas, and i dont think they are "behind the flower".

Could be wrong though

Don't worry they drop off as the pod forms under the flower.. ;)
