i have one of these and its about 2m tall and want to move it would it be ok to move it now or should i wait till the end of the year ?its been in this position for about 6 years now so its quite established
-
Dunno enough about it shaun but my gut feeling would be to leave until until it was dormant. Maybe December?
I'd guess it will be / soon will be budding??

the rootball will be large now mate so you will have to crop it back .you may just be in time to move it .to check take a small twig off the end of a branch and look at it if it is fresh green the sap is already rising so best left alone till next winter

think you guys are right i just wanted convincing it is just starting to bud now iwanted to swap it for one of these small willow tree thingys, remind me in december

Some willows can get seriously large with roots which wander afar looking for water. A Kilmarnock Willow is a lovely plant though - it grows down the way.

its one of those little ones i'm looking at dave only about 2 m high, might not be a willow actualy but the branches hang like one

As munty said, best to leave it now until next year. With our mild winter just gone theres more of a chance that the tree will be coming out of dormancy.
