What do you wish you had planted years ago?
« on: May 03, 2010, 11:57 »
My blueberry bushes won't reach their prime until the ripe old age of 6 I have read. I wish I had planted them years ago now  :(

What do you regret not discovering the joys of sooner?
Grow, dammit, grow.

Asparagus.  Even just a few plants in the plot at home.  Only got the lotty last summer so I've only put an asparagus bed in a few weeks back.  I would just love to be eating home grown asparagus right now.... oh well 2 years to go  ::)
Lotty holder since Aug 09... I've FINALLY finished clearing it! On with the p.lanting  ....

I planted asparagus and red, white and black currants the first year I had my allotment and then two years later we moved. I hope whoever took the allotment knew what they were and got the benefit.

Same here with blueberries. We've been here only 7 years and the bushes went in last year. My mum's have been in quite a while so we usually 'borrow' from hers.  ;) It'll be nice to just go out the back door for berries rather than make an hour's round trip drive.

Thank you, you have reminded me I bought 4 asparagus plants a while back but couldn't figure out where to plant them, I dug them out last night and they have tiny spears growing away so I haven't killed them yet, need to find a home for them.
