Meet Murphy
« on: September 07, 2011, 19:14 »
Today we bought ourselves a lovely horse, called Murphy but known already as Big Murph as there is a pony and a terrier with the same name on his new yard. He is a lovely laid back chap, which is good as he hasn't been ridden for six months and I haven't ridden for six years!

He does indeed look lovely.  I also like the look of the livery(sp) there.  I'm 50 hm hm years old and still ride out three times a week. Once you get back into it it's easy.

He's beautiful - what a gorgeous head and kind eye - does he have Welsh in him by chance?  He looks a nice size too - about 15 hands?

Enjoy your riding and spending time with him, I find being around horses is one of the best things for your soul  :)

Well, an exciting day today! We had to cancel the trip to Kent due to the weather, we couldn't put Bonnie lab in kennels in windy weather as she hates wind because it makes things bang, and they are too much disruption for the in-laws who are very set in their ways. Sooooooo......

Today is the day we get our big boy.

He has a lovely eye, and generous ears. The owner knows nothing about him, he was just something cheap to make money on, but she didn't have time. He is bigger than he looks in the photo, passported at 16.1, and quite chunky. With a name like Murphy we think he may have come from Ireland.

So excited! But the old joints are getting worried! As is the bank! We still have all the equipment from having Tosca, but vet and farrier fees have rocketed in the last five years.
