Title: Meet the Laydees!
Post by: devonbarmygardener on April 29, 2014, 16:04
Our new girls arrived on Sunday!! :D

12 beautiful Brown Lohmann hens (destined originally for battery farming) - well they're pretty free now and just getting used to it!!

They were completely bewildered by the worms I threw in - no idea they could eat them! An the rain - well - it was funny, but a bit sad as they just couldn't seem to understand what was going on!
They've been in small cages in a big barn since they were big enough to be sexed so they're quite docile girls - unlike out last lot of rampaging misses! They seem to be getting on alright so far too. :)

No names this time as we can't really tell them apart! But they are 'The Laydees' to me :)

Well they have had a lucky escape from the battery farm life then.

Lucky Laydees. They look lovely. I am sure they will soon get used to worms and their uses.
