Covering a table
« on: May 20, 2009, 18:06 »
Hi all

I have a battered old wooden table in the garden, piled with pots, trays, all the usual. It's starting to show its age and won't last a great deal longer. Can I cover it with something to protect it - sheet zinc or aluminium, perhaps? If so, where would I get it from?

Thanks
Matt

You could use any metal sheeting, but you can also tile the table with either leftover tiles or simply buy some cheap clearance stuff. I've seen some really gorgeous designs made from scrappy leftovers.

you could also cover it with a piece of formica ,this will last for years and you should be able to buy a piece some were near the size you want
If the early bird gets the worm how come the 2nd mouse to the trap gets the cheese ??

A sheet of chequer plate might do the trick B&Q sell it but there not cheap.  Any stell fabricators should be able to help on sheets of stuff.  also car body repairs places might help.
Thanks
