Bramble & apple jam
« on: July 30, 2009, 21:50 »
I had a go at making this without a recipe last year as i didn't have quite enough blackberries. The kids really liked it and it seemed to last longer than bramble jelly, but it was cloudy.
I can't remember whether I used a lemon with it or not - Delia's recipe for bramble seedless uses a lemon I think, BUT, if I put in the apple, pips, core & all, will I still need a lemon (as I don't have one, only a lime and somehow that doesn't seem a good combination!)
Thanks

I would think that using the peelings etc you wouldn't need the lemon assuming thats for added pectin???  But I am far from an expert i'm afraid!  ::)

Noticed that the brambles across the road are ripening nicely -- I think I'll get out there with a basin  :D after this inspiration
