« on: January 10, 2015, 18:34 »
Using up fruit from my freezer.  Make a compote with the blackurrant add sugar or sweetener. Packed of meringue. Put the compote on top of meringue.  Make a creme with creme f r e s h I e crumble in a meringue and sugar or sweetener put on top of the blackurrant s .  Very nice and with fat free and sweetener a low calorie pudding.

I love meringue! Even better now I can easily make my own. Because the meringue is so sweet I find that I never need any form of sugar or sweetener with my fruit either

I don't eat much icecream, but vanilla on top of the meringue with hot blackcurrants over the top is lovely. You could use low fat ice stuff I suppose, similar effect and you wouldn't know the difference.

Could the meringue be made with sweetner , i thought once i would try to replace the sugar in some high sugar foods but the price was a bit silly .

Recipes. Actually I was thinking about this while lying awake last night and remembered that savoury meringues featured heavily on the Great British Menu last series. Don't fancy them! But if you can do savoury then using sweetener should be very possible.
