Broody canary
« on: June 15, 2017, 20:06 »
Has anyone got canarys I have a pair in a cage but the female has been constantly broody since April. Now the nights are longer I understand that this will break her. She's already had four lots so far but have been unsuccessful. Taken the nest out each time but she is staying put in the food dish and not coming out for drink and food she's starting to look a bit tatty. The male is in the same cage but still she won't move if I take the feed pots out she's ok. Tried using a upright feeder on the side but it clogs up any help would be good thanks

I have an upright feeder and use a twig to keep it leaning inwards.

Thanks grinling but it's not that it won't stand upright the bit where the food comes out clogs and the male chucks most of it out.
