Bordeaux mixture

I am panicking over this humid weather and am considering spraying my toms and spuds. Has anyone made this? I'm nipping into the chemists tomorrow to ask for copper sulphate but I'm wondering if it's OK to use normal garden lime?
Or shall I just get a bottle of it ready made?
It sounds the kind of thing that Munty might know about (hint hint)
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Bordeaux Mixture,or the Copper Sulphate in it is my favourite Bete Noire.

It might well counteract the blight but it will have disasterous consequences for your earthworms too and is highly toxic to aquatic life if it manages to get into streams and rivers which it will do easily as it's water soluble.

What gets me is that it's now classed as an organic pesticide.

Ridiculous.

Sorry for the rant but I would rather get blight than use it.

Also persists long in the environment to top. Derris is just a worse twin to it though.
