hi i separated one of my hens from my other 2 as she was broody so i let her hatch some chicks, shes been in a separate coop for 9 weeks now and as the chicks are going to a new home tomorrow i will be putting her back in with the other 2 hens, im not sure what to expect though will there be fighting as shes been away from them for so long or will it be like she never left? do i just put her straight back in? im unsure can anyone help?

has she been in full view of the others? if so she should be ok - mine free range with their chicks from a very early age but still sleep in their own broody coop. They then decide when they want to go back to the others with their chicks

my other 2 free range all day so they see her and go upto her in her coop but i havent let her out and the chicks as ive been under the impression that my other hens would attack the chicks so they havent free ranged. when my 2 hens go upto her coop she fluffs up at them and runs her beak up and down the wire - which to me she looked angry that they were near her and her chicks

she will be fine.

I would of let her out though with the chicks when about a week old as your other hens wont mess with a mother !
