I wouldn't do that, you get a reasonable return, but don't expect the Jersey Royal taste. Have you done a forum search on Intenational Kidney to see what others think?
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I grew Nadines last time and they were really good with good yield. its resistent to most pests and blight but if you leave them in the ground for too long when they are due for harvest then they will get attacked by pests over time. I gave some nadines to my next door to grow and he was well impressed, he had one which was size of a brick, said it will last them 3 days  :D

I will also grow Cara this year as well which as resistant as Nadines but gives a floury texture. It also down to what you want to make out of the spuds too.

We're starting to drift off the original question now.

We undertook a poll last year as to people's favourites and the result can be seen here:

Bought mine today as I was in Dobbies, they were fresh out on display and looked very good quality. Will keep them in my nice cool, dark porch for a couple of weeks til the weather warms up a bit then out to the greenhouse for chitting.

I bought Charlottes and Desiree.

Always feel better once I've bought them - it means spring really is on the way  :D

I bought my Wilja at the weekend (first time tater grower)..and was a bit worried as the other guys on the plot looked at me like I was mad :(....WAY too early they said)....perhaps not after all, reading this thread. They are currently in a cool dark place....when should I start to chit?...for say a mid-late march planting?.

Mine arrived yesterday from JBA - looking good. I now have to find space for 120 to chit. I went on their website to remind myself about the types I have bought and found some of them are already sold out.

Just bought mine; had to be Pentland Javelin as the garden centre I got the JBA Lady Cristl from last year has apparently switched supplier and hasn't got them this year.

£3.99 for 2.5kg which is enough for my modest space (B&Q were £3.49 for 2kg but they were considerably larger and many had 2" white chits on them; not good!)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

Didn't really get a good write up did they? Yet I understand that they're Ireland's No.1 spud.

Mine are ordered from Garden Organic. Pity I didn't know you had trouble sourcing them, my fellow LC afficionado. ;)
