Well I have found a mushroon farm reasonably nearby, haven't made the trip but have phoned, a 60l bag is around £2, so very good value. I will prob get some for the brassica patch then mulch the empty beds with it once the growing season is finished.

Can I put it i the holes as a manure? I thought it was just a soil improver, and nutrients were taken by the previously grown mushrooms?

I put composting worms in some as a test.  Killed them.  That's how I know about the hypochlorite.  Worms do like it when it is weathered tho'

Spuds won't like the pH.  MC has got loads of lime (and gypsum so good for clay breaking).

You need to remember that MC is made to feed a fungus and not a green plant.  Therefore, lots of cellulose rather than nitrogen
