They'll only be vulnerable once the shaws are sticking through....if you get frost it will nip them back but they'll recover.  It has to be a very hard frost before it gets them in the ground.

I put all my spuds in this weekend too - maincrop and salad - when the green tops start showing through I'll probably give them a thick mulch with straw and fleece to protect them if any frost is forecast.
