Had a letter other day saying somebody had complained
about our allotment not being cultivated and tidy,How dare they?
This is the time of year when you get plot ready isnt it? Shame they didnt complain this time last year when it had 6 ft high weeds (before we had it)
Some people, all they do is moan moan moan about others obviously got nothing better to do.

Keep smiling :D

I never think an allotment should look perfect, there is always something growing, something going over a few weeds here and there because you know what you want to do with that area in 6 weeks time! etc etc.
We have a few 'perfect' ones but I kinda like the unique unplanned ones!
I wish people would just leave us to it in our own time!

They obviously have too much time on their hands, perhaps they should offer to help dig out the weeds!
Is their plot totally weed free? if it is I suspect chemical intervention may have taken place - not very enviromentally friendly. I have a single word for this sort of person :- TO55ER!

... the bloke next to me grumbles and mumbles all the time.  I was fairly sure that when the greenhouses were nicked recently that that would be my fault ...   ... and it was certainly my fault when his sweetpeas went over ...

You just have to accept that you cannot please everyone.  If the complaint is totally unjustified, as this one is, then let it go.

I've had to put up with snide remarks flying over the fence, and for a while it made me think about giving up my plot, but I've realised that if I ignore him totally he gets bored and doesn't bother.

He's tried to turn other plot holders against me, but they just see me for who I am ... a sunny, slightly dippy woman!

Hows this for madness, chatting to the secretary of a blackpool allotment site, they sent a weeding letter to this chap has it had overgrown, they came, strimmed it and left, the old dear died and again it was left to go all weedy so they sent another letter, the son appeared and strimmed it, dug a few beds and planted some veg but again left it, so the society sent a get off u have had your chance letter and it has taken 9 months to get them off, the plot holder in question threatened legal action as it was his human right to rent a plot, as far as I know it didnt get there but very nearly did.

Without wanting to turn this into an argument, I'm a Southerner and I'm very friendly! I've been to my new allotment three times and each time every single person there has come and said hello!

Perhaps friendly is as friendly does, as Forrest Gump would say?
Veg? That's chips, innit?
