i dont see that there was an argument . you made your point and then made it an issue which i guess you feel strongly about i gave the info i did , after 17 yrs in the forces  in a high ranked position i had many an argument with  pissants of all shapes and sizes many of them a lot more forceful than the position you took , i have looked down the barrel of a gun many times with people who would have shot me for not taking my shoes off and be assured being called  a person washes straight off junior officers have called me a lot worse .you have your point of view mate and your entitled to it as i do mine .be polite in stating it and im going to be happy at all times. so worry not

It is atricky subject,I am not organic in as much as I use no chemicals for feeding, weed elimination etc. but I use `ecofriendly` slug pellets but only on crops under mesh just incase. But I compost,I have 5 bins ,a wormery and a leaf mould bin and sand sacks containing shreadings ready to go on the paths BUT I compost all I can ,so this includes shop bought veg left overs, newspapers(not in winter when used for lighting fire),so any hopes of being organic out off window but not bad for recycling. Also am surrounded by fields that are sprayed so my plants will get that.I buy organic milk from small person but otherwise local produce,if it`s organic all to the good, but I cannot square organic if it`s flown from Kenya and does a diservice to local communities.
I think my  main reason for being pro organic is environmental but we eat so much so cheaply that you will never convert everyone especially those who really can`t afford it.
So,all on this site grow for all different reasons, all valid.

What we don`t do on this site is get personal, everyone has a view point and can argue their case ..so now rant over I hope I won`t be attacked from all sides,I only came on site to put off the washing up!

Annie's right lads, we don't come on here to argue, we can only give our opinions and our experiences.  I know some of us feel strongly about certain things, and the only way to settle your question denbo is to contact DEFRA.  They can tell you what is 'Official' re being organic.  Or contact the Soil Association.

So listen to what people say, weigh it up and make up your own mind!!!

So come on, time to end this post methinks.

Oh and Karl, you repeated yourself, so I deleted one of the repeats, in case you wondered where it went!!!
